Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and the control you keep over it.

The short version. We collect what we need to match your job and run your account. We don’t sell your data. Your contact details are shared only with the pro you select — never with pros who merely see your request.

1. Who we are

HandyMatch is operated by Baltic Service LLC in Miami, Florida. This policy covers information we handle when you use the HandyMatch website and services.

2. What we collect

  • Request details — the job you describe, category, photos you upload, ZIP and address, urgency, preferred times and access notes.
  • Contact and account — your name, phone number and optional email. Homeowner accounts are verified by phone; you may save addresses for faster requests.
  • Pro information — business details, trades, service areas, and documents you upload (licence, insurance, ID). Where required, a tax identifier is collected and stored encrypted.
  • Messages and reviews — messages you exchange through the platform and reviews you leave.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and usage information used to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

3. How we use it

  • To route your request to pros who are eligible for the work in your area, and to run the proposal-and-selection process.
  • To send you service notifications by text and in-app messages (status updates, sign-in codes).
  • To verify pro credentials and operate the marketplace.
  • To prevent fraud, spam and abuse — including bot checks (Cloudflare Turnstile) and rate limits.
  • To maintain, secure and improve the service.

4. Keeping your contact private

When you post a request, matched pros can see the job, photos and an approximate location — not your name, phone number or exact address. Those details are released only to the single pro you select, so they can carry out the work.

5. Text messages

We use your mobile number to send codes and updates related to your requests and account. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of non-essential texts, START to opt back in, or HELP for help. We honor opt-outs for notifications; essential security codes needed to sign in are not marketing and are handled separately. Business texts are sent through our registered messaging (Baltic Service LLC) and delivered via our telecom provider.

6. When we share information

We share information only as needed to run the service:

  • With the pro you select — your contact and address, so they can do the job.
  • With service providers that operate the platform on our behalf — for example, our cloud hosting and database provider and our text-messaging provider — under obligations to protect your data.
  • For legal and safety reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

7. Storage and security

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure (database and file storage), with access controls. Access tokens are stored hashed, sensitive fields such as tax identifiers are encrypted at rest, and uploaded documents are served only to authorized staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to close your account and delete information that we’re not required to keep.

9. Your choices

  • Access and update your profile, saved addresses and requests from your account.
  • Opt out of non-essential texts any time by replying STOP.
  • Ask us to close your account and delete your data (pros can close their profile from the Account tab).

10. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in, and a bot-protection widget (Cloudflare Turnstile) on some forms. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers.

11. Children

HandyMatch is for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will appear here with a new date.

13. Contact

Questions about your privacy? Reach us through the help option in your HandyMatch account while we finalize a dedicated privacy address for launch. HandyMatch is operated by Baltic Service LLC, Miami, Florida.
