Terms of Service

The rules for using HandyMatch. Written to be read.

1. What HandyMatch is

HandyMatch is an online marketplace that connects homeowners in Miami-Dade and Broward counties with independent local service professionals (“pros”). HandyMatch is not a contractor, does not perform any work, does not employ the pros, and is not a party to any agreement you make with a pro. We provide the platform that helps you find each other and, for eligible work, matches your request to pros who qualify.

2. Who may use HandyMatch

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account secure. You’re responsible for activity that happens under your account.

3. For homeowners

  • Posting a request and comparing proposals is free.
  • Your contact details are shared only with a pro you select — not when you post.
  • When you select a proposal, you enter into an agreement directly with that pro. HandyMatch is not a party to it, sets no prices, and does not guarantee the work.
  • We encourage you to confirm a pro’s licence and insurance for your specific job. Our checks are a starting point, not a substitute for your own judgment.

4. For pros

  • Pros are independent. You are not an employee, agent, partner or representative of HandyMatch, and you may not present yourself as one.
  • You are solely responsible for your own licensing, insurance, permits, taxes, workmanship, safety and compliance with all applicable law.
  • You must provide accurate credentials and keep them current. Submitting false or expired credentials is grounds for removal.
  • Our eligibility routing is a matching aid based on the information available. It is not legal advice and does not warrant that any particular job is one you are permitted to perform — that judgment remains yours.
  • You agree not to describe yourself on the platform in any way that misstates your credentials.

5. Eligibility and no guarantee

HandyMatch routes requests using the details provided and our eligibility rules, and reviews credentials that pros upload. We do not guarantee any pro’s licensure, availability, pricing, quality or the outcome of any job, and we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of homeowners or pros. Dealings between a homeowner and a pro are solely between them.

6. Payments

Payment for a job is arranged directly between the homeowner and the pro. HandyMatch does not currently process payments, hold funds, or take a commission on the work. If we add payment features later, additional terms will apply.

7. Messages and text (SMS)

If you provide a mobile number, you consent to receive service messages related to your requests, proposals and account (for example, sign-in codes and status updates). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of non-essential texts or HELP for help. Opting out does not stop security codes needed to sign in. First-contact messages are sent under our registered business, Baltic Service LLC.

8. Content and reviews

You keep ownership of what you submit (job descriptions, photos, messages, reviews). You grant HandyMatch a licence to host and display that content to operate the service. Reviews must be honest and about a real job. Don’t post unlawful, infringing, or misleading content.

9. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the platform: no fraud, harassment, scraping, circumventing eligibility rules, impersonation, or attempts to take contact information off-platform before selection to avoid the process. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any request will result in a match.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HandyMatch and Baltic Service LLC are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for the acts, omissions, work or conduct of any homeowner or pro. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service, which for homeowners is typically zero.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify HandyMatch and Baltic Service LLC against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your dealings with another user, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are subject to the courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Continuing to use HandyMatch after a change means you accept the updated terms.
